Dr. Shao is a computer scientist in the Life Cycle Engineering Group in the Systems Integration Division (SID) of the Engineering Laboratory (EL) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). He has performed research relating to flexible manufacturing system, computer integrated manufacturing system, sustainable manufacturing, shop floor control and automation, engineering tool integration, decision support, and simulation for manufacturing for many years.
